Belize has a rich history of cacao cultivation, shaped by its tropical rainforest and distinctive limestone landscape. This cacao comes from Maya Mountain Cacao, a pioneering social enterprise committed to transparent trade and sharing value throughout the supply chain. Certified organic and recognised with an Heirloom Cacao Preservation designation, these beans offer an exceptional expression of Belizean cacao.

Since 2010, Maya Mountain Cacao has worked with hundreds of Q’eqchi’ and Mopan Maya farming families, many of whom have grown cacao for generations. Freshly harvested beans are brought to a central fermentation facility, creating consistency in quality while allowing farmers to focus on cultivating exceptional cacao and supporting the continuation of traditional cacao farming.

A low and slow roast allows the natural character of the beans to unfold, revealing layers of honey, orange candy and raisin alongside roasted peanut and a bright grapefruit finish. The result is a beautifully expressive dark chocolate where the quality of the cacao does the talking.
